Our walk today started outside Lathom Park, the majestic house long gone.
The number of horses we saw, on our meander, shouldn't be a surprise as, during the war, thousands of horses – and men - were trained at Lathom Park near Ormskirk.
Lord Lathom had offered his land so the horses could be prepared for their duties at the front line.
